Your Awards - ​Middlesex Sword Awards

 Would you like to say a big THANK YOU and nominate amazing people for a very special awards?

​If so, don’t delay, look on the forms below, decide on the relevant category and fill the form in on-line…then hit submit.
The annual Middlesex Swords Awards recognise achievements and contributions made by all the amazing volunteers through officiating, coaching, volunteering, delivering in schools, clubs, and local leagues, as well as committee members and other roles who make netball happen.  To nominate simply decide on the relevant category and complete the on-line form


The awards are presented at the beginning of the Middlesex County AGM giving the recipient the opportunity to be celebrated right across the county. Our Middlesex winners will be automatically nominated for the London & South East “ONE” Awards Regional awards and winners will then go forward to the England Netball National “ONE” Awards.

Closing date for your nominations is 21st April 2025.

Here are the various categories you can nominate for with a brief outline (Online Form):

  • Sonia Taylor Adult Coach of the Year Swords Award
Outstanding contribution to community netball players in environments with players over 18.

  • Sonia Taylor Junior & Young Adult Coach of the Year Swords Award
Outstanding contribution to community netball players in environments with players 18 and under.

  • Community Official of the Year Swords
A consistent contribution to community netball and an impact on others involved

  • Sally Essex Community Volunteer of the Year Swords Award (volunteer role outside coaching and officiating)
This is a newly named award in recognition of Sally and her contribution and dedication to Middlesex Netball for over the last 44 years.
Like Sally, nominees should have made a consistent impact, creating change and the opportunities, that have improved the lives of netballers within our County.

  • Administrator of the Year Swords Award (any volunteer role including coaching and officiating)
Outstanding contribution to netball delivery through coaching, officiating, event volunteer or committee/administration role within their club.

  • Unsung Hero Swords Award – in a club or league
Outstanding contribution to netball through volunteering in a capacity that supports the delivery of club or local league netball

  • Young Volunteer of the Year Swords Award
Outstanding contribution to netball as a volunteer aged between 12 and 25 years old

  • Teacher Swords Award
Outstanding contribution to netball through delivery in the education environment.

  • Club of the Year Swords Award
Presented to a netball club who has made an outstanding contribution within their community through the delivery of Recognised and Authorised Netball activity                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        
  • Inclusion Swords Award
Developing netball to address equity and promote inclusion and participation of all people to belong in netball Initiatives to remove barriers to participation for individuals or communities who may not have previously accessed netball opportunities and support them to flourish and soar

  • Long Service Swords Award
Volunteering must be for a minimum of 10 years of service excluding playing history.
