Information for Schools and Junior Clubs: The England Performace Pathway is a vital part of improving the standard of competitive netball played in England, with its main aim to ensure there is an increase in the number of better quality athletes progressing into the England High Performance programme. The Pathway acts as a conveyor belt for high quality English athletes, taking players from 11-12 years old, all the way through to our Senior National team. For more information, visit England Netball website.
Satellite and County Academy Screening Satellite and County Academies form the bottom two tiers of the England Performance Pathway and are managed and delivered through a partnership between England Netball and the County Netball Association. If you are a teacher or club coach, please make use of the online video resource to help inform yourself of the attributes and characteristics we are looking for in our athletes on the Pathway. Following this, if you feel there are players at your school or club who demonstrate these, please contact Sally Essex for information.
Trials for 2020/2021 Season The trials have been postponed due to Covid-19 and a decision will be made once netball activities are allowed to resume.
U15 County Academy To be advised.
U13 Satellite Academy Players can only attend one trial and must attend the venue where they wish to attend Satellite sessions, if they are successful. Players are selected against England Netball Performance Pathway criteria and it is recommended that teachers and coaches nominating girls for these trials view the Trained Identifier resource. Registration is via the England Netball website: http://scouting.englandnetball.co.uk/
Satellite Academies are centres where players who have been selected (from years 7 & 8) receive enhanced coaching, skills development and sport science information. Emphasis is placed on the individual’s athletic development not team play. This is the first step on the England Netball Talent Pathway. This academy is the second phase of the pathway. Talented athletes (from years 9 & 10) continue to receive enhanced coaching, skills development and sport science information. Emphasis is still placed on the individual’s athletic development not team play. It is not essential for a player to have attended a Satellite Academy for them to be eligible to attend a County Trial.
